Boorowa, NSW, property a genuine buying opportunity

5/09/2008 3:48:00 PM
With commodity prices holding up and a green pick on the ground, there are some good opportunities ahead for prospective buyers in the NSW rural property market, according to Simon Southwell, of Ray White Rural, Canberra.

Mr Southwell said the current property market conditions reflected confidence in commodity prices and in rural industry.

"The property market is still holding up," he said.

"Even though there's been drought or dry times nearly Australia-wide for five or six years, the commodity prices are starting to line up.

"An even when people are talking negatively, that has shown to be possibly the best time to buy."

Mr Southwell is bringing to auction a 958-hectare aggregation, Rogilla and Bimberoo, in the Boorowa district of NSW on behalf of the Mason family.

Well-watered and suited to both grazing and cropping, the block is to be auctioned at Canberra's Kurrajong Hotel on September 18.

Adding interest to the market has been some regular rainfall in recent weeks, with the aggregation receiving several falls of 10-15mm.
